ANGELA MANNO’s
Community Supported Art Program

Community Supported Art Program, Hydra Greece, 2008

Welcome to my Community Supported Art program, an exciting and innovative way to acquire soul-nourishing, original art at a significant savings, while “supporting your local artist” and enjoying a more intimate role in bringing the artwork into being.

Here’s how it works:

“Community Supported Art” (CSArt) pools the resources of a group of my new and existing collectors to enable me to produce a body of work during a projected period. It is inspired by the model of Community Supported Agriculture where consumers buy shares in the beginning of the growing season to cover the farmer's start-up costs, in exchange for which the shareholder receives a season's worth of fresh, healthy produce. Participants in CSArt receive original art, and the price per painting reflects the total budget divided by the number of participants needed for the venture, plus a modest stipend. Though it has some resemblance to commissioning a work of art, the CSArt approach offers participants the added satisfaction of playing a more integral role in the creation of the art while enjoying affordable prices. Each program is unique as it is based on the new landscape I plan to paint. Over the years under the CSArt program, I have painted the stark contrast of earth, sky and sea on the Greek islands, the patchwork farms and lavender fields of Provence, the sun drenched hills of Tuscany and the vast, mystical landscape of the American Southwest.

Each CSArt participant receives one original oil painting per order and may reserve as many as they wish. Upon my return, participants are sent color correct, high resolution reproductions of all the pieces in order to indicate their preferences.

Endorsements:

“I'd never participated in a program like the CSArt program before -- and I wouldn't hesitate to participate again! The work of art that I was able to purchase exceeded my expectations: lush, rich, beautiful -- it hangs above my bed where I'm able to enjoy it everyday. Angela Manno is a superb and sensitive artist, and I'm honored to be able to support her work through a program like this.”

— Staci Swedeen, playwright, Sleepy Hollow, NY

"Since its inception, we have had the pleasure of participating with the ‘Community- Supported Art Program' a couple of times and we can't imagine an easier or more delightful way to get involved with an artist and watch as the whole process unfolds. Angela has developed a very organized and professional program for which the end product is artwork in our home that we feel a direct connection to. It's a good thing!"

— Private Collectors, Cincinatti, OH

“As New Yorkers, we are minimalists and for ten years we had very little furniture -- nothing on our walls, no art, and then Angela Manno came along. We now have sunflowers and olive trees and lavender fields . . . It turned our house into a home. It really speaks to us. It’s beautiful and we love it. ”

— Michael Moss and Eve Heyne, Brooklyn, NY
